But now Google is ready to help automate your work flow with new Docs API.

The new Docs API should complement existing options made available through Google Docs Apps Script. A similarly in-depth API has also long been available for Google Sheets.

But the Docs API is launching after a nearly year-long developer preview period which started around Google Cloud Next, during which companies like Netflix, Mailchimp, Final Draft, and Zapier were able to test it out and give Google valuable feedback. In that time, Zapier was able to use the API to connect Google Docs to their wider automation options, allowing for the automatic creation of documents based on templates.

Google’s New AI Will Check Your Grammar in Google Docs

Google today announced that its artificial intelligence-powered grammar checker will now be a native feature in Google Docs for all users of G Suite, its corporate suite of web tools and services. The grammar checker, which Google announced last July, is powered by machine translation, which is the same subset of AI tools that enable software’s natural language processing capabilities and the ability to translate text from one language into another.

"Let Docs be your new grammar police, Grammar suggestions in Google Docs is now generally available.", announced G Suite team in a tweet. 

             

Each and every year, we learn about the new applications of artificial intelligence and how it is going to impact our daily lives. Google has always been at the forefront of making the conversation surrounding AI as practical as possible, and its newest AI which is being incorporated into Google Docs is the latest example of how an intelligence such as this can be used to improve various aspects of our routines in ways we would never have imagined before.

Unfortunately, the feature is still restricted to business users. But the expansion to all G Suite customers and having it turned on by default in Google Docs is a good indication that the company is prepping the grammar checker for a wider consumer release at some point in the future.

In October 2018, Google announced new app developer policy, which asked programmers to submit Permissions Declaration Form with 90 days as to why they need access to user's sensitive details such as phone SMS and call log details.

This was in response to the emergence of adware and malware-ridden apps in Play Store, which they used to resemble as utility of the apps but never performed the functions as advertised and also there was no need for access to personal details of and acess calls and location of the user.

" new policy is designed to ensure that apps asking for these permissions need full and ongoing access to the sensitive data in order to accomplish the app's primary use case and that users will understand why this data would be required for the app to function,Director, Product Management, Google Play said in a statement."

Google's New App Review Policy:

• The likelihood that an average user would understand why this type of app needs full access to the data.
• User benefit of the feature.
• Importance of the permission relative to the core functionality of the app.
• Risks presented by all apps with this use case having access to this sensitive data.
• Availability of more narrow alternatives for enabling the feature.
